GLUTEN-FREE CHERRY GLAZED CRUSTED STEAK RECIPE
This gluten-free dinner for two features a juicy steak crusted with The Toasted Oat Cherry Streusel Soft Granola & drowned in a tart black cherry glaze.
Cherry Glazed Crusted Steak

- 2 4 oz steaks, rib-eye
- 1 bag [10 oz.] The Toasted Oat Cherry Streusel Soft Granola
- 1 tbsp. olive oil
- 1/4 tsp. sea salt
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper, coarse
- 1/2 cup water
- 7-10 black cherries, pitted
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 star anise
Preheat oven to broil [high].
Add water, cherries, cinnamon stick & star anise to a small pan on high heat until it beings to boil. Once boiling, lower the temperature to medium-low heat & bring to a simmer. Simmer for 10 minutes.
While glaze is simmering, salt & pepper the raw steaks. Set additional stove-top burner to medium-high heat & add olive oil to a frying pan.
Place steaks on hot pan, cooking them until a crust is formed, about 4-8 minutes on each side. Adjust as necessary. [Be sure to check on glaze during this step.]
When black cherry glaze is finished & steaks are still searing, drain the sauce into a carafe & transfer cherries to a plate [for serving].
Transfer steaks onto to a baking dish and cover the tops of the steaks with The Toasted Oat Cherry Streusel Soft Granola, pressing down granola with the back of a spoon. Transfer dish to the preheated oven & broil for 6-8 minutes, or until the granola has browned.
Pour black cherry glaze on steaks as desired.
